Laura Bell

I joined Bookminders 20 years ago as a part-time accountant so that I could continue working in the accounting field yet have the flexible schedule needed to raise two young daughters. Since then, I have had the opportunity to vary my work level as needed. In traditional work environments, you typically must forfeit your own time to meet the needs of the job. With Bookminders, my career has continually evolved to fit with the different stages of my life. Over time, my client assignments have included both for- and non-profit organizations. I’ve greatly expanded my knowledge of different industries while providing opportunities to meet a variety of interesting people.

Bookminders offers guidance and training from highly knowledgeable managers along with technology instruction and assistance. Bookminders management team ensures our success in a dynamic industry. With some companies, working from a home office can feel isolating or lonely, but I know that my Bookminders team is always available and willing to help at any time. This allows me to feel connected and supported while working from home.

From the expansion of my accounting knowledge, to my ever-growing technical skills, to an overall sense of professional growth and well-being, working at Bookminders has had such a positive impact on my life! Just as important, however, are the family- and work-life benefits. Being available for my daughters during their formable years was invaluable and, now that they are grown, I have the flexibility to pursue other personal interests without making professional sacrifices.  Bookminders has always been committed to employee development and work-life balance. My dynamic career here is truly evidence of their commitment.

Laura grew up in Grove City, PA, earning her bachelor’s degree from Grove City College.  After moving with her husband to Pittsburgh in 1986, Laura worked in a variety of accounting and financial analysis capacities with various manufacturing and financial services businesses.  After taking some time off to start a family, she re-entered the workforce, joining Bookminders in 2001 as a part-time accountant.
