Rachel Hoffman: Balancing Commitments

Rachel Hoffman’s journey shows how intentionally making space by choosing the right work culture can lead to lasting fulfillment and long-term growth.

Meet Our Leaders

For Rachel Hoffman, flexibility isn’t a perk, it’s essential. As a young parent working long hours in public accounting in the 2000s, a visit from Bookminders sparked her interest in a model that offered meaningful careers with true flexibility. “The opportunity to be a professional with flexibility was extremely rare 15 years ago, and continues to be elusive,” she notes. Although she didn’t meet the experience requirement at that first meeting, the goal of joining an environment like Bookminders stayed on her mind.

After gaining additional experience, Rachel interviewed and received a Bookminders offer but chose a higher paying, traditional role to meet short term financial goals. Within a year, she realized the trade-off hadn’t been worth it for her family and accepted a spot at Bookminders in September 2011.

Over the past 14 years, Rachel has embraced the flexibility to scale her workload around life’s priorities, from raising children to caring for elderly relatives, all while growing in her career. “I’ve always enjoyed working independently and I appreciate the trust
management places in me,” she shares. As her tenure with Bookminders grew, she honed her communication skills, explaining complex accounting concepts in ways clients could easily grasp.

Steadily advancing, Rachel became a Senior Accountant and in 2016, joined the Quality Assurance team. She gained broad exposure to internal accounting processes across industries which she credits for keeping her work engaging and dynamic. In 2022, she briefly left Bookminders for a traditional 9-to-5 but quickly realized what was missing. “After three months there, I missed being part of a work culture that truly valued flexibility. Luckily, Bookminders welcomed me back.”

In 2025, Rachel was promoted to Quality Assurance Manager. For Rachel, the promotion was more than a new title, it
marked another step in a journey defined by balance and growth. “Bookminders has offered me the professional life I
wanted with the flexibility my family needed. Every stage of my career here has given me new opportunities to develop and contribute in meaningful ways.”
