March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize the women whose leadership, vision, and perseverance have shaped industries, communities, and workplaces across the country. This year, that recognition carries special meaning for us: in 2026, Bookminders celebrates 35 years in business.

Our story began with a founder who saw what the accounting profession was missing, not just a smarter way to deliver bookkeeping, but a better way to support the talented women being pushed out of it by rigid schedules and inflexible structures. Bookminders challenged that traditional model, building a remote-first, flexible work model designed to retain experienced accountants who wanted meaningful, high-level work without sacrificing life outside of it. Over three and a half decades, what started as a solution became a culture, and that approach has not only endured, it has proven to be a strategic advantage.

Today, women comprise our entire leadership team, and make up the majority of our management structure and accounting staff. Many of our leaders began their careers here as accountants and grew within the organization. That continuity of experience and investment in people translates directly into the quality, consistency, and trust our clients rely on every day. Across the United States, our team members serve on nonprofit boards, actively mentor others, and support the communities around them. When talent is supported, it thrives, and that ripple effect strengthens every organization we serve.

Women’s History Month is not only about celebrating individual achievement. It is about recognizing leadership that creates opportunity for others. Thirty-five years of Bookminders is proof of exactly that. We are grateful for the vision that started it all, the women who expanded this culture and lead it today, and the emerging professionals who will carry it forward. As we close out this month of reflection, here’s to the next 35 years!
