La Prima Espresso

“We selected Bookminders so we would have professional accountants doing our bookkeeping.  I know my accounting is right.”

In 1988 La Prima Espresso was founded by owner, Sam Patti.  His original business plan was to sell and service commercial espresso machines from the first store located at the corner of Penn Avenue and 21st Street in the Strip District.  But, the showroom soon evolved into an Italian style espresso bar when the locals began to enjoy the ambiance and good tasting coffee.

“Overall, Bookminders has been great.  We used to have a bookkeeper who came in once a week.  All her work had to be reviewed by our accountant, who then produced our financial statements.  If the accountants were busy, we would wait months.”

Owner Sam Patti appreciates getting weekly results from his bookminder.  “Instead of waiting until the end of the month to see our results, we know our results weekly.  We have a clear picture of what’s going on.  Instead of receiving my financials in bits and pieces, I get a complete package from my bookminder.  The weekly reports work very well for us.  It’s easy to find the information I need, easy to make comparisons, easy to look up data.”

“We have to deal with vendor problems all the time.  Their paperwork is always getting messed up.  But, our bookminder really keeps tabs on all our stuff.  It’s organized so we can always put our fingers on it.  So, I can trust that our numbers are right and we can set the vendors straight.”

Sam has total confidence in his bookminder.  “This is like having an accounting department in-house.  My bookminder knows what she’s doing and she always gives me accurate information.  We selected Bookminders so we would have professional accountants doing our bookkeeping.  I know my accounting is right.  I would be fearless in any audit.”
