Kathy Bacik-Bonetti brought over two decades of accounting and reporting experience with public and private companies when she joined Bookminders over 15 years ago. After years of rigid schedules and long hours, she sought a role that offered flexibility, meaningful work, and the ability to work from home. Bookminders provided that balance and quickly became a place where she could grow, contribute, and thrive!
From the start, Kathy made it clear she wanted opportunities beyond standard accounting. Within six months she was leading her first client onboarding, and over time, she took on complex implementations, special projects, and mentoring responsibilities for new team members. In 2014, she joined the Quality Assurance team, where she combined her technical expertise and ability to guide others. That same year, when she needed to take time off for a family illness, Bookminders’ flexible model allowed her to quickly transition clients and return at her own pace.
As her career evolved, Kathy embraced new challenges. In 2019, she became Quality Assurance Manager, stepping away from client onboarding while continuing to support client relationships.
“I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and helping others succeed,” Kathy says. “The QA role was a natural fit.” In this position, she strengthened internal systems, ensured reporting accuracy, and supported her colleagues’ growth. In 2021, her family relocated to a small town in Northwestern Pennsylvania, something she notes would not have been possible without Bookminders’ remote-first model.
In 2025, Kathy was promoted to Director of Strategic Projects, spearheading initiatives that will enhance technology, streamline operations, and provide innovative solutions that benefit both our team and the organizations we support. She values the ability to work independently while knowing support and partnership are always available. Looking back, Kathy reflects, “I feel truly fortunate to have grown within a culture like this. The flexibility and support have made such a difference over the years. I’m proud to be part of our leadership team and look forward to continuing this journey through retirement.” Her story reflects the steady momentum that defines Bookminders: driven by excellence, shaped by flexibility, and always moving forward with purpose.
