Melanie Rutan

“Work/life balance is important to me. Working for Bookminders, I’m able to attend my children’s sports and school events, while continuing my professional career.  It’s very important to me to be able to do both.”

Melanie appreciates the opportunity to do professional accounting work from home.  “Bookminders has helped me achieve a good work/life balance.  I’m able to attend my children’s sports and school events, while continuing my professional career.  It’s very important to me to be able to do both.”

She is staying current in her professional career.  “As an accountant at Bookminders, I’m able to pursue my professional career, while working part-time from home.  I’ve been able to stay current with accounting and with software.  I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of non-profit clients.”

Bookminders has given Melanie steady support; including helping adjust her client load to suit changes in her life.  “I love that Bookminders backs me up with lots of resources.  If there is something going on in my life, I’ve am able to turn a client over to another trained bookminder, to reduce my workload.  And, whenever I’ve had an accounting issue with a client, I’ve always received prompt advice on how to solve the issue.”

Melanie received her BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from West Virginia State College in 1988 (Summa Cum Laude).  She was an Examiner-In-Charge with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) for 11 years before joining Bookminders in 2001.
