“The training program was excellent.  I couldn’t get enough of it.  I would have stayed for a whole week if they would have let me.”

Brenan wanted to start a bookkeeping practice to compliment his tax practice.  “As a CPA providing tax services, starting a bookkeeping business was a natural progression for me. My goal is to leverage my background as a Controller, Accounting Manager and Financial Analyst to help my clients understand and improve their business. Helping my clients with their taxes and bookkeeping provides a synergy that makes sense in all aspects.”

He became a Bookminders licensee because he was impressed with the quality of the program.  “They are the only ones who offer a program with the controls to assure the clients of consistent quality and accuracy.  I’ve been in manufacturing—I understand how important it is to have documented procedures.  Bookminders is way ahead of the game.”

“I am thrilled to be associated with Bookminders.  It’s invaluable to have a group of dedicated professionals who have invested time and resources to ensure that customers receive outstanding results from their bookkeeping service.  What more can you ask for?”

Brenan was pleased with the Boot Camp training.  “The Bookminders training was excellent.  I couldn’t get enough of it!  I would have stayed for a whole week if they would have let me.  Bookminders did a fantabulous job.  The training program was well-documented and since it was a small group, we all got more out of the sessions.  Tom Joseph (Bookminders CEO) provided a plenty of insight with marketing, which I believe is the most critical area for anyone new to this business.”

Brenan is finding the Bookminders tools to be very useful.  “The New Hire Training Manual is awesome.  The MAD [the Monthly Activity Database tracks and reports services provided to clients] is really helpful and I’m glad I did not have to reinvent it for my business.  The Standards and Procedures are probably the most valuable tool available to licensees.”

“I would say to potential licensees that Bookminders has a great system.  The support they provide is excellent.  The overall package is very valuable for someone starting a bookkeeping business.”

Brenan owns his own CPA practice, Peregrine Management Services, in Orange County, California.  Brenan graduated from California State University at Long Beach in 1992, with a BS degree in Accounting.  Before starting Peregrine Management Services, Inc., Brenan held financial management positions in manufacturing and managed care insurance.  He started providing tax services in 2007, received his CPA in 2008 and started his own full-time accounting practice in 2011.
